Costa Rica 2023 | 35mm Film

Going to Costa Rica on spring break of 2023 was a dream. I'm so glad I brought my Nikon F5 35mm film camera (shot with Kodak ColorPlus 200).

Can you bring film through TSA?

Yes you can, you just have to ask if they will hand check your rolls individually. TSA agents will gladly do that. Just remember going into your trip that an accident could occur, don't let it ruin your trip.

Can you put film through a food detector (Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry)?

Yes!! This was something we had to put everything through once we got past customs in Costa Rica. I was so worried this would ruin the film, but I decided to still take photos anyway. I'm so glad I did because they turned out beautifully!

There are tons of local shops that are just as good, if not better, than the touristy restaurants. Sadly we didn't go to a ton of them, but they were always cheaper than the tourist traps obviously.

Traveling alongside the roads in Costa Rica, you may wonder where is the nearest gas station & food joint, but don't worry, within the next hour, you are likely to see one!

I'm so grateful to have gone on this trip with my husband & family. Traveling always refreshes my spirit, and I'm so grateful God allows me to have opportunities like this. Stay tuned for the next travel adventure!
